Bone spur on sternum.

Does anyone know about what could be causing a bone spur on my sternum on the manubrium in the center. It causes chest tightness and pain everyday with movement and i have an appointment tmr with doc so ill ask them but i was just wondering if something like this is common in arthritis.

Very common with osteoarthritis, although not so much on the sternum. Did you diagnose this yourself? If so you do need to confirm with a doctor to make sure this is the correct interpretation of your problem.

Hi Lilynette, I have a condition where I get additional build up on my spine which looks like candle wax on an X Ray. You may have the condition as me, which your Doctor will confirm after XRay's and tests. Here is a link. Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis (DISH or Forestier's Disease)
