I've taken Methocarbamol 750 mg for the past 5 years. Since I'm allergic to all the regular pain medications, this was given to me when I had my last spinal fusion in 2011 to help with the after surgery pain. It works well, doesn't knock me out and helps loads when my back spasms. I don't take it unless I'm having spasms though because I don't want my body to become used to it and then it stop working since I'm so limited in what I can take.
According to me Soma is the best muscle relaxer as it has really helped me to overcome my chronic injury muscle pain.My doctor prescribed me about it with proper guidelines for its intake and I consumed it accordingly and i was soon free from my pain.
