The problem is that the drugs can take over three months to work so I did get flares when first on the drugs. You could maybe call the Rheumy helpline for advice. They gave me some steroids to cover me until the drugs kicked in which was very helpful.
Are you also using your painkillers regularly and hot or cold packs whatever suitors you best?
Thinking of you flares are awful xxx
Is work aware of your RD. When you have been off sick for a while, a phased return to work (reduced hours over several weeks building up to normal hours) can be very helpful. I wished I had asked for this when I was off work beginning of year, as I returned to a very heavy workload and now feel very drained. Another colleague asked for this and it was granted.
Sorry I've not got back quicker, before I came home last week my manager asked me if there was anything he could do,I said to him that I would only be able to do a desk job because I have to use a stick and I'm still waiting for an answer. I work for the local authority and I was a Hgv driver so I am just waiting for a meeting with OH so it's just wait and see , plus I also have angina and have been having breathing problems
