I hope you are all well. I have been to see my Rheumatologist today. They have put me on the Sulpphasalazine as they said they would. I also explained that my back is getting very progressively worse and ever so painful. After a very thorough examination, the Rheumatologist decided that he would send me for a M.R.I scan.
He thinks I might have AS. Yikes.
Anybody else got the same??

No, not AS but I do hope that proves not to be the case though it can be treated of course, it's just I wonder why it's not been discussed before. Maybe your Rheumy has suspected & why he decided to try the SSZ, I believe it's used for treating AS?
I hope those who do have experience of it will be along soon to be of more help. Let's hope the MRI shows it's not (if it's as simple as that) but pleased your Rheumy has ordered one for you. x
Yep, that's what I have. Its well worth joining the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society - excellent magazine, excellent website, and excellent helpline. Also check out the international forums at the Spondylitis Association of America and KickAS (google ankylosing spondylitis forum and you should find them) - both those forums have a whole lot more folk that you would get in any more local forum, and some really excellent information and advice.
