Can't bend it FED UP is an understatement
Soo back to see consultant on weds injection in left ... - NRAS
Soo back to see consultant on weds injection in left knee didn't help at all right knee is giving way and locking on me swollen so tight can
I would ask him about getting a scan on your knee?? X hope the meeting goes well x
Allanah .. a question .. I presume by your answer above that your rheumatologist allows scans on knees for reasons other than preparing for surgery? Although my injections in my knees always give great results/relief, after four months my Baker cyst and knee swelling is back. My rheumy and rheumy nurses say they don't scan unless they are looking to see what is there when preparing for operations. (I was told by one very rheumy nurse that .. "The problem with knee scans is they don't tell us very much"!! My reply . ."Well they tell you more than if you don't look at all" !!!!) Confusing? YES! suspect it is all to do with costs but would love to see what is happening in my knee(s). Think it is going to be a case of me paying if I want to. Although I have been in BUPA since well before my RA started, the fact it is a chronic condition does not allow for treatment other than a replacement/surgery.
Deejojo please let us know what happens. As someone who has had major knee problems for years I would love to try investigate mine without being pushed for knee replacement which I am not sure I need as my problems are mostly behind the knee - Baker Cyst, swelling and tendons. I do hope they can help alleviate your problem as knees that won't bend or support you are a nightmare. I have been housebound since January till April with mine. Hope for a turnaround for you very soon. xx
I have a knee that sounds the same can't get down locks and swells up. I have been told for a long time I need a new knee, also the injection did not work annoying isn't it.
Been to see another doctor I do not need a knee it's genetic and have to have x rays every 6 months so don't know what it is
Hope you get relief soon
I really empathise with you. Is this the knee with the cartlidge tear deejojo? I just saw my gp about mine n she sugested corrective surgery to repsair the tear as a steroid inj in the joint and painkillers hadnt help. I have an apppointment at the knee disease clinic soon but apparently they need the inflamtion to go down first! If only! Talk to your gp this could b an option for u too. I had a steroid inj in my bum last week for a flare i was having n that has actually started to relieve the knee a bit this week too. Hope u gt a soloution
I think it's a tear again as felt same before well I'm back tomoz thanxs for your kind reply
I had surgery in February for it x
Can i ask how long were u in and how long recovering? Gp said they wont operate if they cant reduce the inflamtion but its always seems to b inflammed, its definately bigger than the other knee anyway. Good luck with your appointment today x
