Thank you for replying. I don't get any pain but periods of diarrhoea. Have stopped pill for couple of days - everything ok. Will restart again on Saturday and see what happens !!!

yes I did but then I went on Tramadol as well and that has balanced it out. I also had to go on heart meds due to a surprise heart condition and that has also put a stop to the diarrhea, not that I suggest you use those methods to combat it. :)

Yes I was never off the loo!!! After 3 months I was taken off it, as mine never cleared up.

I'm afraid I can't help with any info - but took my first hydrox last night and have just read the thread this morning. I will keep alert for any side effects. Hopefully your symptoms will clear up/calm down.

A question though if I may - my rheumy (and the info leaflet) have said I should have an annual eyetest. Have you been told this and does the hospital do this or do you have to make your own arrangements.

Hi, I had to arrange my own eye test before I could start taking Hydroxy.

I've had no problem with this drug.

Many thanks Chappy1, I have been ok with methrotrexate so far, so am hoping will be ok with this as well. I am now seeing the optician tomorrow ('scuse the pun!)

As i was due to have an eye test so arranged it - all ok but to have another in a year's time. I have restarted the hydroxychloroquine today so fingers crossed ok. Thank you everyone for your help.

Yes I am suffering from diarrhoea while taking this medicine although I cannot pin it to this exactly as before I was diagnosed with RA and given various medicines I had suffered chronic diarrhoea for a couple of years. My doctor was going to investigate further (I had already had tests for cancer), but since being diagnosed with RA I have not bothered as I have enough to contend with.

I can understand this as I suspended my statin as I felt the same. GP understood. Hope you can resolve this
