Its a driving adaptation which allows you to use your hands to accelerate instead of your feet

I have seen them but never used them

When my car is in cruise cruise control, I can manually accelerate using a stick on the wheel just pushing it up or down. It is really easy and quite nice to use. I would imagine that what you are talking about is very similar. If I needed to I would be happy with only this accelerator.

Hope this helps a little.

If you can find a place that does disabled driving assessments, then thats always the best. They can let you try things like that before you actually go ahead with getting it fitted. They can also often recommend things that you wouldn't have thought of, that may in fact be better.

Thanks everyone. Im going to try one soon but would also love to hear from someone who has experience using one

I haven't heard of it till now. I did have afar that had it in the steering wheel years ago. At that time it was just a toy, a little extra in my car. I can only imagine it would be a good thing if your ankles and feet hurt. Wish I still had that car. It probably easy once you get the hang of it. Good luck! Abby
