Was the cortisone shot into the joint space or into the tendon? I know that there is growing evidence that its not a good idea to inject tendons with steroid any more as it can cause them to become brittle and rupture. Steroids right into the joint space are fine though, and other types of injection into the tendon are OK too.

Not in my knee but ankle and thumb yes. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but cartilage is the slowest tissue to heal because there's no direct blood supply. It might be worth seeing a physio if you can afford to as they'll be able to give you exercises and advise to keep it mobile without doing extra damage. One that specialises in sports injuries would be ideal. Hope things start feeling more comfortable for you x

Mine took a full year before it started to feel normal. I used an Ace bandage to give it some support.
