Hi I'm a mum but not with a toddler. My children are 7, 8 and 9 and very demanding still. Not in the way that a toddler is but there is no let up with them. I work 4 days a week and rush to school to pick them up and then off to whatever they're doing and I'm practically falling down by this point. They aren't quite old enough to really get it. They sort of understand that I get very tired. My little boy, the 7 yr old, still loves a cuddle n carry downstairs in the morning but I just can't do it anymore. It hurts sometimes just to have then on my knee and cuddle them.

I've had symptoms for a couple of years but only recently diagnosed and my RA isn't under control yet. It's very frustrating as it stops me doing what I want and what they want me to do with them. It's just a question of pacing yourself though I think. Knowing if you can manage a day out with them and have time to recover afterwards before whatever next needs to be done. It's particularly difficult now during the holidays but I get by and I don't think the kids suffer they just learn to deal with it even if they don't know what 'it' is. There's lots and lots of love in this house and it goes a long way to making things right for them. I just trundle along and do my best but don't beat myself up about what I can't do.

Good luck,

Rosie

Hiya,

Yes, I was hit with RA when my baby was 6 weeks old. Never been so scared in my life! She will now be 3 in November. We have a 13 year old as well.

Rosierabbit, 3 children at that age is exhausting without flippin RA!!!

I'm very lucky to have my RA under control now but everything was a challenge as you understand.

How I managed to undress her, change nappies, dress her again without using my hands still amazes me!

How are you getting on? if I can help at all please feel free to PM me. :)

AKAWiliby your absolutely right they are exhausting and for me the worst bit of the disease is definitely the fatigue rather than the pain. I had a steroid injection at the end of July and I think that now might be a prerequisite for summer holidays ha ha!

I also forgot about nappies and poppers omg what a nightmare with RA! I do think though that our children give us extra powers that make us do things for them that if they weren't there we would think were impossible. I guess that's what they call being a mum.

Good luck to both of you and let us know how you're getting on. Rx
