5Kms for Day 5

I'm such an "all or nothing" personality. :-) Just did my first run in over a year, its amazing how out of shape you get. I used to run 1/2 marathons and I struggled with the 5K but still baby steps back to fitness.

Good news is that it has really really helped my tight chest....for now but I am enjoying the respite! :-)

Nice one Chris- it really does help with the cravings doesn't it?

Although I was moderately fit anyway (walked everywhere and regularly go hill-walking) I really ramped up on the exercise when I quit and now I swim twice per week and run 5k 5 days per week. I doubt I shall ever get to the heady heights of running the Reading half-marathon (though I haven't ruled it out) but I really do feel all the better for it.

I'm sure it will help with your chest as well as generally help you to relax and feel better.

You are doing well you know- you really should be extremely proud of yourself. :)

Well done Chris on five days. Exercise is great for taking your mind off smoking and improved fitness encourages people to keep it up. I don't run (knees/ankles give way:() but I'm trying to cycle as much as possible. :)
