:mad: been so unwell bad, chest infection, infected throat, can't eat, mouth tastes terrible, cold sores mouth ulcers.
God knows how it would of been if I still smoked, I can't imagine.
Thank god today that I gave up the fags

Oh you poor things. It's a bit flipping early for the autumn/winter cold season to start isn't it? I hope that both of you get it out of the way quickly and are fighting fit for the rest of the winter.
The old advice remains good- plenty of rest, plenty of fluids and plenty of inhalations. Get better soon both of you. 
Hoping you feel a bit better today Tracey, there are lots of these nasty bugs doing the rounds at the moment.
Teflon, it was exactly the same for me. I had cold after cold for the first 5 months or so but since then nothing. Hopefully I've been through the healing/repair patch now and so will poorTracey and Tea.
As I understand it smoking weakens the defences but that its balanced out but the sterilising effect of the smoke.
So when you quit you have a period of time while your natural defences return to what they should be when you are more prone to infection.
It's so true have felt quite off colour on and off since my quit.
But oh gosh this is a differen level, can't eat as my throat us so swollen, chest infection, and feeling totally rubbish.
God can not think about having a fag, however it does seem that since the quit lots of rubbish health wise:confused:

get well soon. Spoil yourself as much as possible. You'll heal up faster if you rest!
Be vigilant if this is the first time you've been sick since you quit. Getting better can be a powerful trigger for some.
