Good Morning all! I hope everyone is having a nice Monday, well as nice as possible with it being Monday and the fact it rained torrents last night.
I have a confession to make. I am an idiot.
I'm not sure if many of you will remember me but my last quit (way back in November of last year) ended up not going so well. 10 weeks in after a particularly stressful drunken night I ended up having "just one" which turned into "just a couple" which, as we all know, always ends up with usual service being resumed not long after if you don't nip it in the bud.
I didn't nip it in the bud and have ran the gamut of emotions since January (another reason why stopping smoking is definitely the right thing to do; why keep doing something that causes so much guilt and shame?) and now feel ready to stop again.
The last few times I have attempted a quit I have lasted a few hours before something has happened to make me want to start again. The ease I found my first quit seems to have evaporated and i'm now hunkering down in my bunker ready to take on the battle I think there's going to be.
So far I don't feel so bad, just the cough of your lungs cleaning themselves which we usually force back down with more smoke. And for this being the first morning of a new (and potentially improved) quit attempt I'd say that wasn't bad going at all.

Welcome back to the fold Griff, and may this quit prove to be The Final Quit....
I shall be cheering you on and you know from before that we'll all be here whenever you need us. Do keep posting to update us and may your Day One be as smooth and easy as it possibly can be.
It's the nicotine monster inside of you that's tricking you into thinking you have done something that's so wrong you have to smoke, tell if to sod off and continue strongly with your quit.
Allo Griffie, and I know that 'just one' moment all too well. Happy to see you hopping back on track, and if you can still recall, the first few days could be rough.
So come back often, read, lurk, and post !
Rooting for you to clear Day 2 and then go on to Day 3.
