Well, (Finally! ;)) made it.

6 calendar months

Not smoked 3675 cigs

Saved £1635.00 :)

Feeling on top of the world (just eating a little too much )

Never, ever thought I'd stop smoking for this length of time, always thought I would be a life long smoker.

Good luck everyone with their quits!

PS - the other rooms for the Nov 2013 Quitters have all been booked & thoroughly cleaned

This is a fabulous achievement :D:D 6 months is a LONG time, like you,I was resigned to being a smoker forever,I just could not conceive of leaving my little white friends behind :(

But we can all do this, and at 6 months you are statistically very likely to make a year now,so in the meantime be wary, keep the shields up and when you get to 10 months submit your suite design request to the Penthouse admin dept-remember whatever you want, you get,at the Penthouse :D:D:D

I just love these posts by Max, truly inspirational, but more also true, Max has conquered, what is needed to quit, thumbs up to Max:)

YAY FINALLY!!! :D:D:D

If I could do dancing bananas and cheer leaders I would, mate. Flipping well done! All power to the first of the November/December Quitters to make it to Halfway House!! :D

Thank you most kindly for reserving some rooms for the rest of the gang. I shall be bringing up the rear on 8th June if all goes well. :)

In the meantime, relax for a while, put your feet up and enjoy that view. I bet the Penthouse is looking awfully close from there isn't it?

Thank you all for your kind words.

It's a great feeling to have passed this milestone and so long as I keep my wits about me - there will be no going back.

I have reached the 6-month mark! Can't believe it.

I very big thank you to all here. Without your support, frankly I don't think I could've made it. The initial cessation period was godawful - from 40+ to nothing, cold turkey was not easy. I appreciate, like an alcoholic, the temptation will always be there (especially when you get told, oh, just one socially - as if!). So it is up to me to remain strong and not light up. I also know that, for now, I will think of them, now and again, but that will go by time. Over these last 6 months, things I never wanted to admit to, I.e. their harm, etc. is something I had to reckon with and deservedly feel guilty that I chose to ignore because, the breathing is better; I feel healthier; I am not a slave to them any longer; I don't stink. Win win!

A big THANK YOU to all here - you are my rock, couldn't have done it without you.

Be well everyone

Kindest regards

Firefly

Well done Firefly! - great going, considering :)

You're the second person from the Nov 2013 quitters to arrive.

Woody is due on Friday + a few others that do not post that often.

I've made two. :D

One is a chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream in the middle and chocolate icing on top and the other is a chocolate marble cake. :)

Hi All

What a pleasure it was to read your posts. Thankfully I checked this thread because I usually check Nov Quitters first and post there as well.

Just checked out the original folks of the November Quitters:

Finally - 01/11/2013 ... Through!

Mash - 01/11/2013 ... ?

Tangled - 11/11/2013 ... ?

Firefly -11/11/2013 ... Through!

Woody - 17/11/2013 ... soon through

Want_to_smell_nice - 17/11/2013 ... also soon through

Lucy - 28/11/2013 ... not much to go!

Skiddaw - 08/12/2013 ... one of us and not long to go

There are a Mrs Mash and Gdadd - couldn't find cessation info. Please let us know how you are doing.

As for starting a new thread, please let me know ....... A group that suffered together, stays together!

Thanks for the cake, a small piece please.

Hi 5 to all :)

Hi All

A group that suffered together, stays together!

Thanks for the cake, a small piece please.

Hi 5 to all :)

Nicely put Firefly! :D

And thanks for the update on who is where. What has happened to Mrs Mash? She used to post a lot. I hope she's still out there somewhere...

I shall cut you a small slice of both cakes. :)

Hi Skiddaw

Is there a way of connecting this thread to our November Quitters thread?

That is 'home'. It is where we have been posting these last months. I am going to 'cut and paste' the date everyone quit on the November Quitters group and hopefully we get an update from those that have not posted for a while.

Regards

Firefly

I don't think there is but I am happy to be corrected (I'm not much of a computer whizz-kid I am afraid..:o)

But damn good idea to cut & paste it onto the Nov Quitters group. Let's hope some of them emerge at some point soon. :)
