New room and new determination.......feeling quite positive at the moment. Day 6 the hardest so far.
Have been trying to cut down on the gum and am drinking peppermint tea like its going out of fashion! OH away this weekend and already having the demon on my shoulder telling me its ok to smoke this weekend as no one needs to know but he can do one!!
Got an essay due on the 1st April so planning lock myself away Friday & sat from all the Indo smokers and get it finished early - be a good focus me thinks.
Happy Tuesday everyone x

Keep going Vickie can I ask why you are tying to not use the gum so much? Are you aiming to go CT? keep using the gum if it's helping, anything to get you through at least the first few weeks, you can wean yourself off when u feel more confident, there's no rush
Blooming OH's are a pain aren't they, fancy saying that to you!, mind you I've had similar with mine, one night after a few bevvies he said "shall we just get 10"....... No we won't just get 10 :D
Donna - the Nic o'tine demon not the OH!!!! Just internally arguments with myself that I can smoke as he will be away! He is a non smoker so as keen as me that I stop.
No reason about the gum - mainly as my jaw is getting sore as chew the same piece for hours on end! Only using 4 pieces of 4mg a day so not too bad re nicotine intake......will see how it goes!
Hahaha sorry total wrong end of the stick there, just my hubby that's naughty then
Lots of people use lozenges they're supposed to be quite good, I've had them before in previous quits and they do take the edge off, you can get very low doses too, whatever works for you, if you want to ditch the gum, good for you, cold turkey might be brilliant for you. All the best

P.s - think your sposed to chew the gum and then let it sit in the side of your cheek if I remember rightly? Then when u get a crave start chewing again? Good luck
Really pleased for you Vickie- a fantastic achievement
I can second the recommendation for lozenges. I used the 1.5mg as my emergency nic-fix and found them very handy indeed. Just knowing I had them to hand made a difference to me and I really swore by them in those first few weeks.
From the sound of it, what with essays to write (and I hope a small chocolate indulgence being as you deserve a treat :D) the weekend will fly by before you know it.
