Just realized I hijacked someone else's post - can tell Im out of practice on the forum!!
Well, Im back after a 6 month break (whoops) and like I said in my previous one fell for the only one trick - AGAIN!! Gets me every time...... Really am fed up with smoking and want to do this so much. Very easy to be a smoker, here in Jakarta as it is a national hobby but we are returning back to the UK in July and would love to come back as a non smoker.
Had a chest infection, did the usual and smoked through it until I have a sudden moment of realisation (mainly to do with the fact I couldnt breath) and hard some hard words with myself.
Needless to say, I am now better and the urge is returning hence my return here. I WILL NOT GIVE IN TO IT - Mr Nic O Tine can do one........
Rant over!!!!! x

When you think about it, it's flipping crazy how we smoked through illness - my thinking (if you can call it that) was that i felt pooey enough already without not smoking. *heavy eye roll*
Anyway, you're off toa flipping good start, and it's lovely to have you back!!
You'll be a sweet smelling, healthy non-smoker by the time you're home
Thanks Gemma - its just mental really. It kind of gave me an insight into what I might be like in 5 years time....have a bit of a 'lung issue' and the doctor warned me 3 years ago that I continue smoking then I would be on oxygen by the time Im 40!!!
That in itself should have been a wake up call but you know the smokers mentality......dont panic and carry on smoking!
Just need to keep that at the forefront of my mind - chewing gum like there is no tomorrow! Wanted to get an ecig but they are illegal in Indonesia (backwards!) so will pick one up when im back in the UK in a few weeks.

It's incredible the mental hoops we jump through!!
Excusing and justifiying it with all kinds of stuff when deep down we know (but don't accept) how bad it is!!
But, we've stopped now which is the main thing
Lol it seems bizarre to have fags everywhere but electric ones banned - but then it's probably a tax issue or something?
It's good to meet you and many congratulations on your new (and final :D) quit. Like Kat, I have huge admiration for anyone who can quit when living in a country where smoking is the norm and acceptable. That really takes a strong will so fair play to you is all I can say.
Having reached day 7 you're over the worst already. Just keep holding on to the fact that by the time you return to the UK in July you will have been smoke-free for 4 months + and will be well on the way to the penthouse.
