It's now been 11 months 1 week, since I had my last fag ,only 3 more weeks untill I take my seat in the penthouse ,yesssssss, it has been hard work getting here espeacily at the start and the first couple of months, never thought I would get here, but it feels so good, only problem I've got is the weight that I have put on ,but now going to a gym 4/5 times a week with the wife ,only doing about 40 mins and 15 mins swimming at the moment, but we are increasing the times evrey week I really need to lose about 3 stone and I suppose any thing is possible if I can pack up smoking I can do any thing .maybe even beat this cancer, myeloma ,which is a bone cancer, they say there is no cure but it's treatable,I should last 10 years or more ,is what they told me 14 months ago,at the moment it's not progressing ,so that's good .i can only look forward ,and try to enjoy life as much as possible,oh well ONWARDS AND UPWARDS ,good luck to you all,Alan

Wow- so close to the penthouse Alan! That's fantastic. I shall very much look forward to cheering you home.
I think you've done amazingly well especially with the health issues you have to cope with. Very glad that the cancer hasn't progressed in 14 months. I'd say you're doing everything humanly possible to help keep the brakes on it and who knows? Just because they say something isn't curable doesn't mean there aren't exceptions.
As for the weight gain- that will soon come off with the gym and swimming.
Seriously well done mate.
fantastic well done
I will be very pleased to welcome you into the penthouse Alan, you have done fantastically well. Onwards and upwards and don't worry too much about that weight it will as Skiddaw says come off with the gym and swimming. Once again let me say well done!
Brilliant stuff Alan congratulations on your pending penthouse victory, your story puts it all into perspective I don't think I've ever seen a post from you where you are moaning you have just got your head down and got on with it, there's too many posts whining about the stupidest things and how hard it is...including me on occasion...good for you mate, your story has humbled me and I wish u well xx
Congratulations
Hi alan,
Your story is inspirational and I wish you all the best for the future,
