Joined the gym yesterday (was meant to do it ages ago), had half an hour yesterday and 45 minutes today. will try for an hour tomorrow. Am determined to get this weight off and get fitter to boot!

I am hanging on to 2 times a week with my gym membership,cycling 10k on a machine and running/walking uphill on a treadmill,rowing machine is good too for fitness.
I have decided that I have cracked the non smoking for good so I am now turning my firepower to my belly,I am 10 days into a 5/2 diet and it's going well :cool: not weighing myself yet as the Boots scales I bought were total crap and went back the next day :mad: so I ordered a posh set off the Interweb.:).I was appalled to see that I weighed 15stone 13lb at the start :eek: and my target is 13stone 12lb.
I also use, treadmill, bikes and rowing machine, can not do the cross trainer to save my life :eek:
Am up to an hour now, so getting better

I've lost one but still need to lose at least another two (and ideally three for wriggle-room).
However, was more than delighted to discover I could get fairly easily into a size 14 pair of jeans earlier :). Been some considerable time since I could do that!!
Good luck on your getting fit campaign Hellerscatch. I'm doing exactly the same (turning 50 this year and decided some months ago I would NOT be fat and smoking at 50...)
I think they must be a particularly generous cut to be honest (and I'm top-heavy so when I lose weight it tends to comes off my bum, hips & thighs before my tummy and norks :o).
But according to the BMI charts I'm still up the top end of the 'overweight' category and need to lose nearly two stone before I'm within the 'correct weight range' category (and the best part of three stone to be in the middle of the range).
