Hi everyone. This is my first post, but I have been reading this site for a while to get information.
I have so much respect and admiration for all that have fought the fag, and I am trying myself.
I am on my 6th day, but the first 4 were easier I found, now I keep thinking about having a cigarette - did this happen to anyone else ? I am using the tablets, but only 1 today so far. Do you think I should have more nibbles available, would that help? I feel I need help which is why I'm posting now, I thought it would get easier but I seem to have reached a difficult day for me.
Any advice/encouragement appreciated.

Does anyone here recommend patches ? Just wondering if they would help. I just popped 1 nicorette tab today, feel it isn't enough - or am I just going through a bad day?

Grateful for advice.
Hi, I had soooo many early nights in the early days (if you know what I mean) I used Champix so I don't know about patches but a lot of people on here have used them and they have helped them. Take it one day at a time don't think too far ahead that is the best advice I have had
Patches were a life-saver for me. I used the 24mg 16 hour patches for the first 3 weeks plus low strength (1.5mg) lozenges for emergencies. I've weaned myself off the patches and lozenges now (though I keep them with me just in case) but I would never have made it this far without them.
But as others have said, it's horses for courses. There's no 'best' way- just whatever is the right way for you. If you have a local NHS stop smoking clinic/booth I really would recommend you contact them. In my experience at least, they're most knowledgeable and supportive and should be able to help you find the best method for you.
Bluebell I find the mini lozenges a God send - when I feel a crave, I pop one in my mouth and let it dissolve slowly (takes about half an hour). It really does take the edge off and Asda are doing them at the minute for £4 - take as and when needed, up to a max of around 12 per day x
Sometimes the initial excitement of quitting can wear off, and you need to strengthen your resolve by some means or other. There have been lots of good suggestions on this thread....lots of things for you to try, and also be aware that it does get easier. All over the forum you will see it being said...."it does get easier" and it's true. Keep reminding yourself of this.
