Sense of smell

Well, I know there are a few changes now, but the only one I have really, truly felt so far is an amazing increase of my sense of smell, which is great but has its disadvantages, examples,

I cooked cod on Tuesday, fan on, pan lid on but I have been smelling it on my trackies ever since, I had to put them for a wash on Thursday... That would have neverbothered me.

Work trip, mt colleague who smokes gets in the car, I almost choke, surely I could not smell like that!

Best one today,went to the pub, really smelled of a fart and accused my hubby and 6 year old of passing wind, both denied it, so I can now smell across the room (unfortunately)

My nose has improved so much too. I am not sure that is good thing though, I had no idea how many ugly smells I could go through and not notice. I was in a shop yesterday and got a nasty whiff, someone had let go, however there was no section of the shop ( small enough the shop) where I could avoid the smell, peeeeeeeeeeeeew, . I can also get a whiff off my dogs now, dog smell, but I never noticed before.

However I love that I am getting better use out of my body lotions now, I can still smell them hours after putting them on. No longer are they hidden by smoke. The downside though is I have to get all my clothes rewashed, some jackets I had worn as a smoker, and hellsbells I can smell them in the wardrobe.

Oh God yes the smell on clothes ! I noticed when I started to wear some of my winter coats !

I have even smelled a smoker light up at least 100 yards away too in an open air park !

Also, funny thing I found when I was well into my quit I couldn't wear perfume anymore as the smell was too overpowering ! Having said that it used to be channel no 5 and that's a strong smell anyway. But to think I used to cake myself in the stuff ! How embarrassing !

I can smell smoke a long way off, I can also know when someone has had a smoke, how did we ever think we could pretend we didn't smoke. Duh!.

Oh goodness, if my sense of smell gets any more sensitive I might have to start wearing a gas mask! I've never noticed a decreased sense of taste or smell when I was smoking (although I have been at it since I was 12), in fact my sense of smell is better than that of my non-smoking friends! Maybe I'll have a bionic nose in a few days
