Today is day 6 of cold turkey quitting for me and i feel amzing! Something that i want to share with everyone is that yesterday i was really struggling so i went and bought a couple of jigsaw puzzles. I finished a very hard and extremely big puzzle in under a day and i was so lost in it i actually went about four hours forgetting that i was even quitting smoking. The puzzle is going up on the wall as my cravings killer achievement. I hope this can help some other people too x

I think you are doing very very well. At 6 days into my January quit with CT I would have fastened all the jigsaw pieces to the table using 6 inch nails and a 14lb mell hammer! Just to finish it off I would have spit on them. So yes, you are doing well. :)

What a fantastic idea Lisa! I wish I had the patience for jigsaws.

And, you're doing fab at 6 days, you'll be in a new room tomorrow :)

Thankyou so much everyone, your encouragement is really making all the difference. I have almost given in a couple of times and somehow found the strength to continue. I don't know if this happens to everyone else but it really seems like everything is going wrong this week. The biggest hurdle was the loss of my near complete manuscript. I am a writer and after two years of writing this particular piece, I was almost finished and ready to send to the publishers until my computer decided to restore itself...thankfully I have the unrevised copy in hard form but the revised copy was amazing. That made me go to the door for a smoke but the door never opened so I must have more will power than I first thought.

To Debbie H, I tried to upload a pic of the puzzle but this won't let me :( It's a 3d butterfly and flower picture :)

Today, I am feeling a lot lighter and able to breath a lot better and the mood swings and depression from yesterday either hasn't kicked in for the day yet or it has passed.

I am now off to get my exercise on and I wish you all a good, smoke free day! keep it up :)

@ max...i have it at the computer shop at the moment to see if he can get it off the harddrive so fingers crossed.

@ debbie, its a standard square puzzle but the butterflies and flowers look as though they are popping out at you. After a couple of hours your head really starts to hurt hahaha.
