I dont want to be xoming on the morning after on day one again or apoligising and saying oh I must not have been ready... I think this is what ive been doubtful with since I stopped... like with xmas coming up n that....

Honesty, the ecig has been helping me on nights out. Its the only time I use it but dont want to get to used to it, need to break the association but if it helps me get through the early days, i'm fine with it?

Are you using any NRT at the minute or are you CT?

Hi Hayley, what helped me my first time I had a drink with friends both smokers, non smokers and former smokers lol. I had a drink plus a soda water with ice, chewing the ice helped but I didn't need it really. I did change my drink for a while and only this last weekend did I have the pint of Fosters!!! I didn't think of fags once and I have been fine. Even at a friends house party the other week and people were smoking at the door, It didn't bother me at all, but when I got home I could smell the smoke on my hair and at daft a clock I was in the bath washing it lol as I did not like the smell at all. Funny how you change without them lol :)

Hayley I don't really understand. If you don't want or need to smoke why would you be worried

Because i once ive had a new drink I dont think I can do it... I used to easily smoke 30 fags while im out drinking... I avoided doing it the last 3mnths... I have got my ecig so ill take that thanks for the advice x

Yep it is daunting, know the feeling!!

Anyway try not to stress it - stay with the non-smokers while your smoker friends go outside for one, take your e-fag so if you feel like caving you have a backup, and for the first couple of times don't get too drunk :p

You'll be fine though :)

I stop myself by not going outside and avoiding smoking areas at all costs. Stay mentally aware that you have quit, do not let alcohol convince you otherwise!

I was so afraid to go on a night out during this quit, but I did it and managed to get to 6 AM still smoke-free! :D
