Hello everyone, I am nearly to the end of week 3 and have noticed that part of my gumline is inflammed and I am getting a few mouth ulcers-Is there anyone else with this problem? I haven't changed my tooth brush or the way I brush, so it ain't that, but there is one part of my gum that is really sore-going to get some strong mouth wash today.
My teeth ache too, like a throbbing sensation??
please help!

Hiya Sweet
That's nasty but normal unfortunately!!
Smoking nesses up your capillaries, so when you stop you get more blood going to them and it makes your gums bleed - I also got very tingly toes, did you have that?
Mouth ulcers are normal too, inhaling hot smoke makes your mouth adapt (can you remember how funny your mouth felt when you started?) and now it's getting back to how it should be!!
Use cordysol (spell) mouthwash and salt water helps too
Hi tracey here, firstly must say without this forum I would have given up by now, so pleased I read every day.
I have managed to stop 6 weeks to day, and yes had terrible ulcers and wobbly teeth, straight to the dentist convinced would loose teeth and convinced the ulcers were something terrible, but was told its quite normal ulcers, and that it would settle down, after five weeks it has settled and no more bleeding I use a mouth wash and that helps massively , well done on doing3 weeks.
I had a terrible day yesterday, and just to add a nice note was not over drawn in the bank yippee that's a first for me

Hello Tracey,
Yes the money saving bonus to stop smoking is really building up! I have saved £160 so far and seem to have spare change in my purse all the time which is great-this seems to have had a 'higher impact' in my quit so far to keep going, more than the health benefits (I know it's wrong!)
I bought some mouth wash yesterday-some that blows my head off! so hopefully my mouth will be a happier one soon xxx
