Hi tracey here am doing ok into week 3 with the patch, has any one had mouth ulcers when stopping smoking on day 18, slightly worrying, hope some one can give me some advice on this. Another day tomorrow and not going to smoke, I have surprised my self getting to week 3. . Not doing to bad, but then I can't expect it to be easy, am hoping it does get easier.
Mouth ulcers: Hi tracey here am doing ok into... - No Smoking Day
Mouth ulcers
Hi !
I know mouth ulcers are supposed to be common, there is a thread on here for bleeding gums too. I guess a lot of it depends on how you personally think in terms of whether your body is detoxing - hence the symptoms of bleeding gums, healing- or underlying issues showing themselves, or whether it is just that the mouth is not being used like it was with smoking - ie. we've all heard of bed sores !
Please do try and stay strong - I use bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) mouth wash and it helps - I have no ulcers with this stopping smoking - but have had really bad ones in the past - but not for long as always gone back to smoking. I do get bleeding gums though !! treat yourself to a polish and scale. my teeth are lovely and white now and I can breathe !!!
Hey Tracey
Way to go getting into week 3
That is fantastic to hear
Sadly mouth ulcers can be one of the side effects
i had a couple and found rinsing my mouth in warm salt water helped
looking forward to seeing you moving up into the next room next week
Hi Tracey
Have always suffered with mouth ulcers, but when I quit it gave me loads!! That clears up though, but it's painful while it lasts.
Cordosyl (spell) mouthwash and salt water helps!!
Ore difficulties help
Not only have I got mouth ulcers, am feeling totally shattered, and slightly dizzy, even on the patch, and while I don't want to give in it seems harder for me in my third week,, I always read this forum , you all seem to be doing so well. Am struggling with all theses changes yapping? Has any one experienced these problems.

Part of that is because of having a mouth full of ulcers hun, not quitting
Have got a massive one on my tongue 'cos I bit it the other day and I feel like c**p!!
We all have ups and downs, but if you tough it out it will get better - if you smoke you're only going to have to go through it all over again
The ulcers are there because our mouths aren't meant to have hot smoke in them, they adapt to it, and now it's un-adapting.
Brilliant
That good advice , my word you don't fantastic, did you go ct or use the patch? Hope I get to where you are. That's just amazing well done you. Thanks tracey
