Hiya Bex :)

Welcome to the forum and well done for getting to day 3!!

How are you quitting? If it's cold turkey then the first week is known to be the worst, it's not fun on NRT either (unless you're like me who was sort of high ) but it does get better :)

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water - don't know about you but for me smoking dried my mouth out so it was natural to have a drink after a ciggie and also we tend to avoid triggers liek coffee + ciggie so it's easy to dehydrate.

Nicotine is a stimulant so it's normal to feel dopey when you come off it, was the worst ever for a while but it also goes away when your body gets used to not smoking!!

Was smoking the same amount to a bit more than you by the end so know how it feels, but it's well worth stopping.

Hi Gemma.. Thanks for taking the time to reply.. I am using Allen Carr who advises CT so CT it is... You are so right I too drank a lot of water when smoking so I have reduced my fluid intake... Will try this afternoon to increase it. Would like to have a bit more energy and get rid of this fuzzy feeling but hey ho I'm on holiday so I've time to indulge myself :)..Thanks again for the advice I'm sure I'll be asking for lots more and it's great not having to feel isolated :)

You're very welcome :)

CT is definitely the best way IMO - didn't do it 'cos i have the willpower of a flea but it's easier in the long run. Allen Carr is great as well - he really does reprogramme your brain :D

I think with more water, you'll feel a bit less fuzzy too but quitting really does mess with how our bodies have got used to being for a little while.

Enjoy your holiday and please post on here any time you like!!

Hi there Max and thanks for your advice and already used this afternoon. My little monster decided to throw a major tantrum earlier.. I managed to get to the kitchen, make a lovely mocha coffee to accompany a little lemon cake, ( thanks Mr Kipling). Sit down and read about how others fight their monster.....Feeling much calmer and away to tackle the kitchen floor..Thank you all..
