I'm nearly there - woah

So i made a deal that i was going to quit smoking when i got back from my 2nd holiday in July as i know this is a major trigger for me.

Somehow my mind suggested that i start with the e cig to cut down before then in preperation. so i planned in my head to continue doing both until july.

amazingly i am down to 1 a day (3 since wednesday afternoon) already and kindof thinking that this is moving a bit quicker than expected.

the other thing that has surprised me is that the e cig is definitley helping, no doubt about it, but i am not as reliant on it as i thought i would be. i expected to be puffing away willy nilly but im keeping it in line with my normal smoking habits if not less. i know some disagree but for me if the e cig gets me off the fags im not bothered about the nicotine element at this stage.

motivator 1: i got my car valeted yesterday and what a delight getting into a smoke free car. motivater 2: MY TASTE HAS SO RETURNED.food yum yum, yum. even jelly and yoghurt yesterday tasted the most divine food ever. (note to self: must increase excercise to avoid becoming a roly poly)

motivator 3: I am doing this all by myself - how proud am i.

But despite all of this, i am heading away next weekend with a little trepidation of "oh well im on holidays so it doesnt really matter if i smoke". Ive so got to break that mindset - ive got one week to do it so if i could just get off the cigs altogether it would be a great start

thanks for allowing me to ramble, rant, talk etc etc.....

That's brilliant newstart! I am sure you can get rid of that one real cig a day and just stick to the e cig for now if you are managing so well already. You are right that you just need to work on the mindset. Once you have that sorted you are most of the way there.

    Good luck!
