It makes it REALLY hard at times....the smokes are right there.
Grrrr, I really don't want one..... But I want one.... If that makes sense.

Yes, it totally makes sense and this must be really difficult for you more than most! Fortunately my OH does not smoke so I don't have cigs around the place as temptation. Thinking about it very well done you for taking the decision to stop in the first place when you are surrounded by someone smoking ......
You are doing really well and so brave be proud and hang in there!!!
Take Care

If it helps, once you get more of a handle on your own quit it will make it so much easier being around other smokers. My other half smokes (not very often) and, while it has been trying at times, it doesn't bother me at all now. Makes it much easier to be around other smokers too.
Hang in there, you'll feel so much better forum and may even convert the other half once he see's how easy it is!! X
Thx guys.... I know I just gotta hang on in there.... If I can do it like this then I've done it! If I "hadnt" been a smoker myself I would be cross with him, but I know he's not ready ...... We're the only ones that know we're ready.
Turning to food, have tried not to, but accepting that I might get a bit chunks .... Losing a few pounds will be easier that day 1 again.
Deep breath, deep breath, chocolate, deep breath, biscuit,.... Bed

I've definately put one a few pounds, but joined a gym two weeks ago. Feels great to exercise an I feel ready for it now Also trying to adjust my diet and not snack so much now that I have a hold on this quit! X
get in there Sarah Lou!!!!!!! :D:D
You are cookin on gas dead proud of you!
Bless you Max. I think you've been Mr Positive since the very first day I met you!! Thanks xxx
Mrs Me smoked for about a month after I quit before she too quit, granted she wasnt smoking many, but I did have to tell her to smoke sometimes.
Personally quit enjoyed the smell of the smoking itself, after smells werent so great.
I think though because my mind was ready it didnt matter, may have only been a few days into my quit but as far as I was (and still am) concerned I was no longer a smoker so didnt bother me.
Get your head in the right place and you can do anything.
So true
My OH still does but is planning to stop soon. She goes into the spare room (we live in a flat) - I call it the stinky room!!! I'm not putting any pressure on her as quitting is totally personal. I'll support her when she is ready!!
It was a help the she smoked in the first few months - no rose tinted smoking memories as there was a constant reminder of the smell and the coughing!!!
If I'm getting some shopping, she often asks me to pick up 20 while I'm there - that feels strange and I feel like saying 'they're not for me' - it lets me know how much I'm not spending (when I stopped they were £6.30 - now they are £7.45 - huge difference!!).
Ashamed to say for 2 years I have been the OH that has been smoking. We quit together in Jan 2011 using patches but I caved at 5 and a half weeks after forgetting to put a patch on. OH carried on with his quit. I quit again Feb 2012 again using patches but caved just before 10 weeks. My continuing to smoke has never been an issue for him as he was so focused. In fact, he said to me the other day 'just have a fag if u want one, you could probably just have one now without it bothering you' I had to quote the 'NOPE' law to him and said I had no desire whatsoever to try that little experiment....and I don't
