Heart Palpatations?

I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that, a few times a day, I will feel as though my heart has skipped a beat and I'll become breathless. It doesn't last long, but my heart will suddenly speed up for a moment.

Is this a heart palpatation?

It doesn't seem to happen at any particular time, but usually leaves me with a tight feeling in my chest. I'm sure I remember, as a smoker, having these very rarely. Could this be an after affect of stopping?

All I seem to do on here is complain at the moment. Ha!!

I had them before I started smoking, when I smoked socially, full time and now I've stopped too but without the breathlessness. It might be worth going to the doctor if you're worried :)

Know my heart would race at times when I was about where you are in your quit and that was a bit scary!!

Google

Well i've been onto good old google, which seems to suggest that palpatations are quite common when anxious, stressed etc.

They're certainly not something I've ever had to worry about, so maybe it's linked with the fact that I've found the last week or so a bit more difficult!

If so, they should pass when my dirty cravings begin to disappear!

Will get myself to the doc if it worries me :)

It hasn't happened to me in ages, so it should go away when you're not so stressed!!

It should start getting easier for you before long :)

I often have heart palpatations on a Sunday, just the thought of going to work!!!!

Must admit, during the first week or so of my quit I often had heart flutters and palpatations. Especially when my brain played mind-tricks re holding a cancer stick.

What would I do without you guys?!

Awww, thanks :)

I suspected that they were normal, but just wanted to make sure.

They never last longer than 3-5 seconds and I have been very irritable today, which is probably why I've noticed them more!
