Well done Jeannie,

Keep up the good work and remember we are all in this together, we have a little group formed from those who gave up on Monday (Mrs Mash, Carolrose, Ramasus, Clairejane and now yourself!) so hopefully between us we can help each other along when those sudden craves kick in.

Look forward to seeing you all on Day 4

Hey Chellebell, welcome aboard!

Hang in there, I know there are some real tough moments but the craves do pass. Also with each passing day hopefully they will reduce.

Positive thoughts all the way and think of the cash already saved.

Cheers Charlie.

Questions for yous - i felt find before i stopped but today i feel quite wheezy - is this normal do you think? xx

I would think that it is all part of the body reacting to the withdrawal of daily nicotine, I have noticed that I'm a bit more light headed than before but that aside only good can come of not smoking! If you're worried go to your local GP but I'm sure it is fine.

Chellbelle welcome to the team! I noticed the same today, felt a bit wheezy and coughed more, I just told myself its all the badness coming out :p

I hope I'm just being paranoid but I've been listening to Allen Carr audiobook and he talks about using nrt is fooling ourselves more or less! I'm starting to feel like my quit isn't 'real' or good enough if you know what I mean as I'm using patches and lozengers therefore still supply nicotine to the body! Anyone else using nrt??

I am with Max on this one and am also using the patches. They really help me a lot.

I see it this way.... when you quit smoking you are fighting two distinct battles, one being the physical and the other pyschological. Using any NRT allows you to focus on one at a time namely the pyschological which statistically is the hardest for most to overcome. You needn't have the added pressure of dealing with the physical want as well if you don't want to.

Lastly it doesn't really matter what crazy scheme you come up with to stay quit, if it works for you it's good!!

Thanks folks! Yeah suppose, it's my quit and I need to do what works for me!

Of can do it course CT is best, but not everyone ,myself inc can do it that way.

Whatever works for each of us.Me personally use a low dose patch 7mg 1st wk then go down cutting them in halves and quarters as the wks go by.Its what worked for me in the past. The phychological aspects of smoking is what is my downfall, not being prepared for them long after the physical craves have passed.

Not this time though................lol:D

Thanks carol! I like the sound of your approach! I'm not using many lozengers, maybe 3 a day but I'm on the highest dose patch but think I'll stick with this for another while until I feel ready to move to the lower dose!

day three - urgh!

hi everyone, i am day 3 too. i have been an 'on and off smoker' (mainly on), since I was 16 years old and I am now 46, scary to think I have been doing it for 30 years. This afternoon has been really tough, it is raining here so I just stayed in bed all afternoon and tried to sleep. I seem to have no energy and when I am awake all I can think about is having a cigarette. I have a dog, so normally walk her 10kms a day just didn't today or yesterday due to the weather. I could so easily drive down to the shops and buy a packet right now but I have been searching the internet reading all the reasons to quit again, and I also can not wait until my house does not smell of smoke. I never smoke inside but I am sure the smell comes off my clothes and onto everything.

Good luck to everyone quitting!
