Just thought I would share my joy with you all. I have now reached day 4 (not the 1st time) but have learnt from previous attempts and adjusted accordingly. I have now, by accident, fell into a good routine. Before it was wake up, lie in bed and spark up, maybe 1 or 2. Finally drag myself out of bed to make coffee with the obligatory roll up. By the school run time I was easily another 2 roll ups to the BAD. All before 9 'o' clock.
Now, what a different story, and its only day 4. The story now is wake up, old patch off, new patch on. Get the hell out off bed. Make a coffee, but with a slice of toast. Sort out kids school lunches and uniforms. Tidy up after the previous nights laziness lol. And, all of a sudden its school run time and not a single smoke filled thought has entered my head.
Maybe this may be of use to some people or not but I found it good just to type.

Nothing wrong with routine, and its is strange how quickly things change instead of reaching for a smoke when i wake up all i want to do is brush my teeth, man does my mouth taste bad all off a sudden i am brushing my teeth four to five time a day!!!
Yes, absolutely, money saved on fags, spent on toothpaste lol. Much healthier and hygienic. Glad to hear you to are doing well, how far along the path are you now?
I found the mornings the hardest (they were my favourite cig of the day) I used to get up straight down stairs light up make coffee and I would smoke about 4 before leaving for work. I changed my whole routine. I now get up have a shower or bath, teeth brushed, dressed and off to work and I have my morning coffee at my desk,(its only 10 mins away) I never used to smoke at work anyway so that helped me a lot. Now it doesnt bother me at all anyway.
These things take time and when you overcome them and look back it is so satisfying. Keep going Don, keep going and you wont regret it that is for sure!
Yes, a pretty similar past routine, except I didn't bother to even get out of bed for the first fag, on many occasions trying to make a rolly with still sleepy, blurry eyes. How sad that is, being physically and mentally chained to what actually amounts to nothing in reality. At the moment I am struggling with the restless nights, but I know these will pass. Keeping my hands busy typing on this forum, and mind busy by reading this forum is a great aid, and I cannot remonstrate how highly appreciated comments such yours are.
and yes I agree, teeth cleaning should be done after a meal. Not only does it clear the debris away from the meal, but the meal tastes a hell of a lot better without a minty tinge to it
With respect Haze a Dental Technician isnt a Dentist though. Dentists don't really recommend eating acidic fruit/fruit juices without cleaning your teeth first in the morning. Something to do with the enamel.
Yes it can cause acid erosion and you are right of course a dental technician is not a dentist.(she thinks she is though sometimes) I guess it just a case of things taste weird if you brush your teeth first.

Thanks Greg, you are a great inspiration for me at present. I to was a addicted 20 - 30 roll-ups per (maybe more, didn't keep track really) for 19 years. After several failed quit attempts, 2nd time this year, my head is in a different place. Just changed careers, wife is quitting the same time, much more involved in this forum. I would like to say its easy, but truth is it isn't. I feel I need to remember that fact and so that when temptations come, I do not want to be back to day 1.
You getting this thing "spanked" by the sound of it!
Chalk another one up on the positivity board Mols!
hehe!
Well done
Greg
There's something in the air today isn't there! Or maybe it's something that's not in the air - I know horrible disgusting thick cloying smoke - brilliant innit
With so much positivity from people such as yourself its hard not to do well. But best not rest on my laurels and keep on doing what I have been doing, it works lol.
