Yay!!!

I'm so glad that I can now post again in week 2. I have had some craves but they are not as bad as previous attempts because this time I know they are all in my head. I have had times when I have realised that I haven't thought about smoking for a couple of hours. At this early stage this is so encouraging to me. I just want to get on with my life and not worry about smoking.

One thing is slightly odd and I have never had it before. It's hard to describe. I am breathing deeper than I have breathed before, even on my last attemp, but it feels like I have a shortness of breath. I know that makes no sense at all. I hope it is just the lungs of a non smoker coming back to full life and all will feel great in a day or 2.

  • Getting there again Mark eh? :D

I am breathing "differently" certainly. If I take deep breaths they certainly go "deeper" than they ever have before, or that I can remember anyway!

Years ago I spoke with my doctor regarding breathing and he put me through various tests. Although I smoked the tests came out quite good, obviously he advised me to give up smoking ... as he always did on every visit!

One thing he did say, which may be relevant, is that most men (including non-smokers) take shallower breaths than women!!

He said this was very common with the male of the species!

Therefore, not sure if you have a symptom of quitting again or just a symptom of being male! :D

That probably hasn't helped really has it!! :o

    Damn well done anyway mate

    Cheers

  • Thats fab news Mark.................well done!

I know what you mean about the chest thing, mine feels a little tight too, I'm sure it's all part of the healing process

  • Thanks guys.

The breathing thing is weird. It's like i'm constantly breathing deeply even when I'm not. I think it may be the weather tho as it has also got very cold. It's not sore, just annoying. I may go to the chemist to put my mind at ease.

I had one of those 'once a year' craves last night. I made a start on the christmas tree. It's pretty big so would normally have taken me 3 days to get up and all the lights on it, never mind anything else. As a non smoker I spent about 2 hours on it last night and have the tree together and half the lights on it. I also had cravings but it was so much more enjoyable being able to just keep at the tree and not have to stop all the time. I'm looking forward to finishing it on Thursday evening now

  • Omg how big is your tree?! 3 days?!

  • You'll still finish the tree Friday night, rather than Saturday

It's 7 foot but it's pretty bushy.i'm a perfectionist with my tree tho. I do a set of lights, look at it from all angels, even from outside, then the next and they have to work in harmony lol. I won't be at home today so there won't be anything done to it today. And I refuse to let anyone else touch my tree so I do it alone. It's my thing that makes me unique hahaha.

  • ha!

First of all Congrats on week 2 that is huge! I dont know you but iam proud of you!

Second i actually LOL ed when i read your xmas tree story. thanks for that!

  • Mark when u finish pop round and put my tree up lol,

    Congrats on 2 wks hun

  • With panto and work I'm rushing to get my own up. I'll prob have to do the partners tree and possibly my parents as well but I do like a nice tree. It's the only holiday I care about so I try to go all out.

On another note, was at the dentist today and had my troublesome tooth removed. It was sore but not as sore as the last tooth. The big thing is that I didn't once think of smoking. Was chuffed with myself. I have put the tooth in my wallet as a reminder that if I ever smoke again I risk the lot and I hate the thought of losing anymore teeth.

  • Sounds a fantastic tree Mark,

You've got to post a photo once you have it finished ... pleeeease? :)

    Well done with the crave

    Cheers
