So sorry that you are having problems in your family.. just awful. Through all the emotions though and however difficult it may be, just try and remember that smoking is not the answer - it doesn't solve anything, you are only feeding an addiction. I do appreciate that this is much easier said than done.. stay strong..

Ah that's natural, I hope things settle for you, but to state the obvious, I'm sure you're aware that a smoke won't change anything...that stuff will still be going on and you will feel doubly cr*p for having had a cigarette or ten. Look after yourself the best you can and post on here loads.....;)

Hey, so sorry you've had a rough time, that really sucks and understand the natural thing is to reach for the fags but as others have said, it doesn't change anything and might make you feel worse.

Stay strong, you've done great 9 days, keep posting, we're here to listen.

Big hugs:-)

Avengers

Just what the others said. Sorry your having family problems, but you smoking is not going to help, and you'll just feel worse, honestly.

Please, please don't reach for the cigs. You've came this far, well done lass. You're so young, and by making the decision to quit at this stage of your life means you've obviously very bright too!

So, sensible head on Avengers. No smokes. Nice hot bath, and try and have an early night.

Hugs

Thank you so much everyone :) You helped me to make up my mind and I stayed home.I am still sad, but at least I am still on track.Don't know what to do now, probably will have something to eat.I hope everything will fix.At least i don't have the terrible carving I had when the bad news came out.

Bless you, Fi's advice was best I thought, hot bath, early night, good short term fix for most things ;)

Just another one in the long line of tests.

You are getting through it though so stay strong and keep going.

You will be so much stronger as you go on :)

really sorry to hear it, avengers, that must be awful for you :(

As I said to someone else on here who was suffering in a similar way and about to cave in: when you feel like your world is crumbling around you and you have no control over all the bad stuff, at least beating this disgusting habit is one thing you DO have control over. Keep that control. Keep going. Breathing smoke in and out isn't going to make you feel better about anything.

Stay strong.

Thanks, guys. But what to do then? All I can do here is to study or to eat.It gets me depressed.Outside is really cold so I can't go jogging or anything related.

You're at uni/college, right? If you need something to distract your mind there must be a ton of things you could do. Societies, political groups, sports activities, theatre, film clubs? I can't believe with all those students about there's nothing for you to do except study! It would do you good, I think, to try to get involved in a social activity, and spend a bit of time away from your books, especially when you're feeling so down.

Helen's right, social activities etc are always good. I also think reading (and I don't mean studying) is good escapism and a great distraction. If you have no books to read there's loads of stuff to read on this site.

You are doing really well and will get easier :-)
