Thank you to everyone that has helped me get this far

    Well done Greg, Sian xx

    Honestly Sian,

Dont worry about the weight .... it will settle down when we settle in to our new non-smoking lives.

I started exercising 2 months before I quit, cycling and exercise bike, and the weight absolutely dropped off me

I didn't eat less I just ate "better", more fruit and veg, less breads and pies .... although I am really partial to a pie!! :)

    I lost 1.5 stone in 2 months

I may be putting a little more on now (as my metabolism slows down during the quit) but I am confident it will begin to drop and level again when I settle.

I am still doing my cycling and exercise bike so I don't get out of the habit ... if you know what I mean

Quitting is at THE TOP of our agenda, not a little bit of extra puppy fat :D

Hope you are enjoying month 2 ... get that pinky up!! what what what what!

Of course the crusts are cut off chuck, it's the only way to serve a cucumber sandwich .... and cut in to tiny little squares!

Here's to the Grange Hill Mob! :D

    Take care

    Greg

(mind you my Grange Hill was in the late 70's and 80's .... so I don't know any of the young-uns!!)

  • Well done!

Let me add my congratulations to the Grange Hill mob, I think you have all done brilliantly!:D

  • Greg I'm sorry was having a really bad day yesterday:(

Today I'm happy and actually like the fact I'm now a no smoker and a couple of lbs here and there are worth it :D

Thanks haze and every1 else who's supported us I'm do happy to be part of the grange hill gang:D

    Sian xx

  • No need to be sorry Sian :)

There is nothing to be sorry for....

We're here for each other so if we can't speak our minds/the truth here where can we?

Is it a "gang" or a "mob"?

I suppose a mob sounds a little more threatening doesn't it?

Suppose it depends on what kind of a day we're having! hehehe :D

Hope you're having a good day today

    I'm getting that Friday Feeling!

    Ready to murder a beer!

    Cheers .... hic!

  • Hi Nifty....been away a while...but so happy to be in month 2...congrats on your progress...really doing well...aren't we!!!!

  • I think gang/mob so doesn't matter what day were having we have the club name to match :D

Cymro we are all doing extremely well xx

  • Yes Sian, Nifty, et al...this is feeling so good now....toasting the gang with nicely chilled glass or 3 of dry white.....cheers!!!!

  • Well done for reaching month 2!!! I like the name - think I need to think of a name for the November quitters too :-)

  • Heading out tonight on my first big night out- feeling strong enough to do that and looking forward to doing it as a non smoker!:D well done kazzytee:D

  • Carolrose, month 3 doesn't seem to far away now!:Dwell done on your quit :)

  • Keep it going you Grange Hill mob! You are all doing stupendously well!:)

  • Thanks for helping the gang folks :)

It is great to help each other as we travel down this bumpy road, if we get lost we can always count on one of the team having a map!

Great to see you back Cymro, we have missed you.

You do know that we voted you the leader in your absence don't you? :D

I will toast you all with several beers later tonight....hic :)

Hope everybody has a great rest of the weekend.

    Take care all

    Greg

  • Enjoy your evening Greg! Strictly and red wine for me :-)

  • my OH has just come in from spudding and is now taking me out for a meal:D

so may to be having a couple of pints tonight, and even better now i dont smoke as no standing outside in cold, BONUS:p

Where is master cymro as with out his guidance Gregyou are next in command pmsl

good luck and enjoy your saturday night Sian xx

  • Hehehe!

Sian you get stuck into those pints chuck!

It is actually now enjoyable to have a beer without having to smoke. I think my addictive brain is slowly distinguishing the difference between my drugs of choice!

Gordon Bennett that sounded heavy even to me and I'm a Pink Floyd fan!!

    Chortle! Titter!

Kazz, think of that name and get your posse together :) it's proving a real help to me. Or join us we're quite house trained don't you know!! :)

I'm a red bloode male but I must now confess to the world that I'm actually loving Strictly!!

There ....... I've gone and said it! Now I feel free! hehe!

Sian, not sure where Cymru is, obviously absent without leave! Hopefully having a ball somewhere, court marshall in the morning!!

Right, toooo boozy! Time for bed :D

    Night night all, take care

    Greg

    xx

  • Glad you had a good night Greg, you're right having a drink without a smoke is getting easier....and the hangovers are nowhere near as bad!

I suspect you're not the only guy who likes Strictly....many pretend they only watch it because their other half makes them but secretly they love it!

I have set up a November quitters group, just need to round folk up now, mind you I might joing yours as well, I mean what's a few days between friends?!

    Karen x

  • Few days ..... pffff ... I laugh in the face of a few days!

(a bit like the French guy in The Holy Grail :D )

I think I'm loving Stictly as I love cycling and Victoria is doing so well, considering she has such little self confidence when it comes to dancing.

I think she was much more comfortable strutting her stuff on the track :)

Plus it's some easy watching to take your mind of the dreaded you know what.

Think I'll ask my better half to sew some sequins on my work uniform!

    That'll get 'em talking! hehe

    Greg

    x

  • I think Victoria was definitely better on the bike! Strictly is just perfect light hearted hibernation telly, what's not to like? Something for everyone....

As for the sequins, well if you want to bling yourself up who are we to stop you?!

  • Ooooo did someone mention Strictly.......my favourites is the Beautiful Flavia and Louis

    Fi x

  • Mine too :-)
