Hello everyone, thought i'd pop in to say hi after i had a nice PM from Mark. I havent been looking in too much to be honest but having a quick glance today it looks like there are many new faces and not many of my quit buddies left? I can only hope they have moved on and are still smoke free....
I am still gloriously smoke free and loving every damn minute. I dont recognise the old, smoky jo me at all anymore,. Seems like a distant memory , like a weird bad dream... I acknowldge it, oh yes, but i dont relate to it if you know what i mean.... Not that i am now a raving born again non smoker, far from it.. i dont put non smokers on a pedestal like i used to when i smoked. In fact the people i admire most are smokers trying to quit, like all of you reading this.
I think i am almost completely symptom free apart from still having a blocked nose all of the time. I am putting this down to my body cleaning itself out and it will go one day.
My kids....oh my wonderfull, beautiful kids.... are so happy and it melts my heart when they tell me how proud of me they are. I have no idea why this is but since i have quit the love i have for my wife and kids has grown so so so much...its awesome... they are so precious and i cherish them every minute of every day (slushy? yep but true).
On that note, my wife is still quit, she will be coming up to month 2 soon and i think my attitude has rubbed off on her too much - she has turned in to a fitness freak..... cool eh?!
good luck to all of you who are wrestling with this thing but remember, i really doesn't have to be hard. Believe me, i know. Just get your head in the right place first and be kind to yourself. No-one has the right to judge you. you are an awesome individual.

I've popped back in today and was preeeetty chuffed to see your good self posting. I've joined a gym n swim thang through work and so much more enjoy walking my dog. Its rather ace.

Great post, all the positivity still there, what a brilliant thing you have done quitting smoking and your wife quitting smoking and the kids being really proud and reaping all the benefits of healthier happier parents.
Nice to see you back on the forum where you belong. This was a great post to read. It's always nice to have someone so positive around to cheer on the newbies (and the not so newbies who are going for it again!!!).

Nice to see you posting again. I'm also just popping in. Also still clean. 81 days clean for me tonight, and I'm feeling as great about it as you are, by the sounds of it. Every day is a joy, and yep I am receiving just as much pride from my daughter about my quit. In fact, she's been insisting that her other parent take Champix too.
