Day 5 over yayyyy

Well its the end of day 5,and had a few wobbly moments over the past 5 days but still havnt smoked.Found today the hardest am giving up with patches but from day 1 have cut them in half and had the smoking mints to help me,well used my last mint last night n noticed the difference today.Bf did offer to buy me some after he finished work,but seeing i had survived the day i declined,(am scared of getting addicted to the mints,last time i gave up was still hooked on the mints 12mths later)just think the less nicotine going into my body the better,but to be honest cnt believe im almost on day 6,this forum def helps as well,so thank you every1

    Sounds like your are doing so well.

    Isn't it strange how when you're in the "quit zone" time goes (or seems to go) soooo slowly yet when you get a moment of clarity and look back you can't believe how time has actually flown!

    Just reading your statistics about dropping the inhalor,i stopped the mints yday and boy im rattier than anything today,could cave any mo,my chest hurts and just feel major angry/tearful,battling with my self not to go and buy anymore,still have the half patch on but obviously not enough,but ive survived 1 day without them so realy struggling with what to do,hate putting more nicotine into me but getting to the point where im afraid i may stumble or kill one of my kids

  • Bay, maybe it would be worth taking mints at this stage of your quit, rather than risk caving in? Mints have only got nicotine in them. Smokes have nicotine and 4000 other chemicals as well. Taking mints has got to be better than smoking, even if it was for the long term, don't you think?

    Bay hun i was in same boat as you, went from champix which had to come off for health reasons, then went cold turkey, so in all went 3wks nicotene free, then wham i hit a wall cravings were horrendous my 3 kids were hiding, so called the doc and she recomended either champix on really low dose or nic lozengers (as i had these at home) i went for 1mg lozengers and cut them in half.

    yes i felt awful, a complete failure yet i had not smoked, it was actually this forum that helped me see, it doesnt matter what you do or use as long as it keeps you off the fags. i only on 3-5 lozengers aday and only when the cravings are bad :D

    plus side is i find dont put on weight :):)

    just do what it takes to keep off the cigs and not killing the bf or kids lol

    Almost a week for you, we'll done:) I agree with other, keep going with the mints for a wee while longer. Better a purring little kitten than a raging lioness!

  • Thanks all,i think the madness/craziness is wearing off for now,thanks to your kind words and a very patient bf who understands fully,logically thinking ive done 1.5 days off mints and survived so hopefully by day 3 off them my body shud be used to less nicotine,we shall have to see,but feeling alot stronger,just dnt wanna pee everyone off by coming on here and constantly whinging about it,i realy appreciate all your help and advice and know i can do it,i just visualise as that littledemon writhing around as slowly i am destroying him,he will not beat me,i am in control,for now at least lol,love n hugs to all of you xxx
