Made it to the end of day two! It was a bit harder than yesterday but I was wasn’t expecting it to be any easier.
Still very irritable and a bit fed up and feeling empty if that makes sense. Thanks for all the support, its great that this place is here to help.
48 hours down and counting!
Just posted on your day one post. Day 2 can be harder than day 1 and day 3 harder than day 2 but it WILL get easier you just have to battle through this Paul and it will be so worth it. Honestly it does not stay being this hard. Have you read Allen Carr Easy way to stop smoking? I found that to be very useful in the early days. Give it a try nothing to lose and it might just help
Well done, Paul....I am in my 3rd week....but vividly remember the first 2 or 3 days...keep going...I have suffered a few traumatic episodes...but came out the other end feeling stronger...hope you get the same result.
That's the attitude rip that nicotine monster a new one. Well done you..... Keep on doing the thing mister, these few days are crap but I promise it will pass, it will get better.
Oh I meant to also echo the recommendation for Allen Carrs book. I read it after I had stopped but it seemed to ring a few home truths to me... I remember reading a few things in it about fear with the tears streaming down my face... It definitely helped me thru the bad first week. :)
Thanks! I have started reading it and already printed the whole thing. There are parts that already make a lot of sense, why did we ever become addicted in the first place?!
Not related but? If cigarettes were "discovered" today then they would be made illegal due to the consequences to health. We know "they" make a lot of money from us smoking so why isn't there more obvious public outcry? Do the takings (tax) really outweigh the money spent on treating the victims of smoking diseases? So many questions!?!
Not sure of any of the answers mate. Sure the info is out there. It is very very big business the tobacco industry and I'm sure they lobby governments the same as any other industry.
Sounds like you may be getting a bit angry towards the whole crock of lies they have been making you pay for for a large chunk of your life ? If so, good it will make this quit stronger

I guess I am!
So far so good, today is a lot easier than yesterday
Glad to see day 3 is going good for you Paul. I am just back from my first run of this week on me c2 5k programme and thankfully my shin splints seem to be on the mend this week (touch wood)
It is definitely getting easier to run and breathe and that makes this whole quit well worth the effort...
