Day 6 today and woke up with the most unbelievable craving for a cigarette. Have now eaten my own weight in mint imperials but it's really got a hold of me. Think I'll change my routine and set out early and walk my daughter to school instead of taking the car. May be that will help,,,,,,,,please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I hope it will. Any advice guys?

Do whatever it takes Caz, but don't smoke 'kay?

Walking, jogging, gym, deep breaths, sipping iced water, anything!!!

Just don't suck down poisonous fumes!!

Good luck.

Got through the first two hours....

Thanks. The walk helped. Think this really is make or break time for me. Gonna just do each hour as it comes and I'm doing extra jobs around the house to take my mind off it. Sipping iced water.....that's next. Thanks for the advice x

One day, hour, or minute at a time Caz. You *can* do this and it *does* get easier.

Stay focussed, hang in there, and don't be beaten by a plant!!

That's the best way. Just get through the next hour. Bit by bit - think about how proud you will feel when you get through each hour.

Ooh, I had a few of those days. Hang in there! You can do it. And tomorrow you'll feel MUCH better, just by virtue of getting through today :)

Keep yourself as occupied as possible. Walking is good. Baking is good too, I found, because it smells so nice, you have to stay clean, it keeps your hands busy, and you have nice cake to compensate for the cravings at the end of it!

One hour at a time x

Iv had an am still having plenty of those cravings, the ones that wont go away!

But once you let the "just one" or "I got to have a puff" thoughts into your head they grow and grow.Best to cut them straight off with a "no way,no matter how much I want one".And from my own past experience the actually having the fag never lives up to the fantasy.

A bit like lots of things in life LOL:D

Hang on in there caz.

I know this sounds like a wacko sort of person speaking but this does really help. When u have that bad craving and ur worked up just focus on your breathing. Breathe through your nose... When u inhale fill your belly with air till it feels like it will explode like father christmas. Then when u exhale suck all the air out of your stomach and breathe it back to the back of your spine.

I know how insane that sounds but it does work. Just try it for 30 secondes it will work.

Thanks CarolRose and Warrior. We've just eaten and the craving started again big time ( I always used to smoke after a meal) . So I tried the breathing technique and "bingo" it's gone again. big hugs and thanks. x
