This is an acquired taste, even if it doesn't work for you to help with cravings it is very good for you.

1 heaped teaspoon grated ginger

1 heaped teaspoon grated tumeric - half dried if cant find the root

Put into a cup and fill with boiling water, let seep for at least 5 minutes. Strain into another cup, add half lemon or lime, a teaspoon Manuka honey if you can get it, otherwise ordinary. A small quarter teaspoon pepper, stir and enjoy.

Research has shown that tumeric works better if pepper is added. Enjoy

"1 heaped teaspoon grated ginger

Is that meant to be half for the ginger? I've never thought about the origins of Tumeric so will google now.

Thanks for the tip and I'll give it a go.

Never knew Turmeric was a member of the ginger family:

Hi YorkSX

It really doesn't matter how much grated ginger you use, but with the tumeric, if you cant find the root and need to use the dried, it is best not to over do it. The dried is alot more concentrated than the raw and it may give you a tummy ache. There has been alot of research done on the health benefits if tumeric, there are many different sites devoted to it, but if you are not use to it it is better to take it slow to begin with.

Enjoy

Hi Warrior

I started drinking this concoction some time ago (before I quit the cigs) for its health benefits. There is alot of information on the internet about the health benefits of tumeric so I began to devise ways of trying to incorporate it into my diet. After I quit the cigs I made up a drink and noticed the taste made the thought of a cigarette quite off-putting (for me anyway.) Like I said it is an acquired taste, not too unpleasant with the knowledge that tumeric has cleansing and purifying properties that may help to counteract the damage cigarettes have done to the body.

Try it and let me know

Sue
