Know what you mean. I went on Prozac 8 days ago and now I'm agitated all the time and having panic attacks. Didn't have them before I took the pills. Don't know whether to phone the emergency line. I've never been on anti depressants before so don't really know what to expect.

With Prozac. They will make you feel worse before better.. Will take about 3 weeks till u feel the benifit. Was on 25mg for 3 years started me off on a Los does then up it.. But if u feel in well or start to have thoughts of harming itself please go to A&E.
The first time they put me on um I didn't have any worsening of depression just gave me a gippy tum.
They tryed it me back on um at the start of my quit I did a week as they made me worse. And I couldn't eat I lost 6 pound in a week. Doctors took me off um and gave me a weeks worth of Valium. Don't think my brain wanted this time. But the doctors gave me full strength when I think he shud of gave me a low dose first. Iv bin on a few anti ds one of them made me go crazy I was seek g stuff..
I read that they can make you worse the second time. I haven't been able to eat anything since they put me on them. I already had a horrible taste and couldn't eat anything. The meds they gave me for that made me sick. I finished it and it didn't work.
I should be happy. I had my lounge and hall decorated this week and new carpets which I love. All paid for with fag money. The only benefit I've seen so far.
Like you, I thought by this time I would be a happy ex smoker.
LOL, they don't cost me anything. Perhaps they'll put me on something else or they'll start working. I've got a friend who's been on them for two years and says they're great. She really had something to cause her depression because her son committed suicide. I don't have any problems so it has to be down to stopping smoking.
Hello you two! I am so glad this forum allows people to discuss things like anti deppressants it must be really reassuring when you know there is always someone you can talk to and they know what you are going through. I hope you both start to feel better very soon you both deserve to you have stuck with your quits and that is brilliant. I know you have found it easy Una but I think that is just because you really want to quit and you are a strong person I can tell that. Shelley on the other hand you have struggled and suffered but you are still quit too. Good times are coming I am sure of it.
Just had a man come round to move some of my furniture. He's been quit for 8 years and doesn't even think about smoking. I wrote about him before because he told me about standing in the city crying because he couldn't carry on with it when he had quit for 8 weeks.
He went on anti depressants and had a dreadful time with them at the beginning. Like us he didn't get any benefits from quitting for a few months and then suddenly everything changed and he hasn't looked back since. Lets hope it happens for us

What do you mean I had it easy??? It was quite easy till I went down to the second lot of patches and then it was like being on a roller coaster. I expected it to get easier when the nicotine had gone but it got worse. Different but worse.:confused:

The same with me was easy till I went down to the second lot of patches. That's why I always say its was a breeze for 2 weeks
