Week/Weak

So it's been well over a week now - 170ish hours. I've probably not smoked about a hundred cigarettes, not spent about £40.

I should probably feel happier!

I know what you mean Paulie - sort of under-whelming. The build up to the quit I reckon was harder than the quit. Still, harder times ahead to be dealt with a day at a time.

All the best

Well on your way

You are well on your way, congratulations. The one-day-at-a-time, one-cigarette-craving-at-a-time worked for me. I quit 5 years ago--just dropping by here and checking things out. This forum really helped me quit & I hope it helps you. Keep at it.

Paulie - there are no trumpets and fanfares im afraid. If you are waiting for a eureka moment or a sudden dramatic change you'll be waiting forever.

I am noticing improvement in my health very, very gradually.

Cheers

Hey Paulie, in about 3 weeks, you feel something nothing major like OMG I'M ALIVE ITS A MIRACLE. thats the sad thing, I learnt a lot in alan carr stop smoking therepy clinics. Its amind thing. You will start feeling good in yourself as you are becoming healthy, more strong, more money, but this is no easy ride my friend. My outbursts shock myself sometimes, the depression some mornings and that was after 4 weeks. it does not last. You wil lstart to feel normal again soon just give it time, you abused your lungs for years they cant be fixed in a week or a month it takes years. If your serious about this quit, it wil lbe easier rather than harder. How hard can it be be to say no to something you dont like ? my ****ergy i use is, i love the smell of petrol but i wont drink it, it could kill me if i drank enough, thats exactly the same with fags...... keep it up, stay positive, remove sharp objects from your reach and you wil lbe grand :-) stay on here get advice, support, read the good the bad be prepared and you will do this. If you need one and one support to rant PM me we are all in the same boat, we have to keep each other afloat....

derek
