My day one with patches and lozengers. Been doing well whilst at work and busy but now I am home and just had my tea and I am really struggling as I used to love my after tea cig with a cuppa :-(( does this really get any easier???

Hi Kaz, welcome! and yes it does. It is day one and you will need to keep distracted. Keep reading all the posts on this forum that should keep you busy. There is loads of info on here and it is very helpful in the early days to read about how other people overcome the early craves.
Hey Guys,
My day one with patches and lozengers. Been doing well whilst at work and busy but now I am home and just had my tea and I am really struggling as I used to love my after tea cig with a cuppa :-(( does this really get any easier???

Nope, it gets worse and worse and worse, and eventually you start smoking again. That's what's happened to everyone on this board. We're all smokers again, because it's impossible to quit, because it never gets any easier.
Okay, that was sarcasm - hope you knew that. It DOES get easier every day. 2nd easier than 1st, 3rd easier than 2nd, etc.
One day, I PROMISE, you will say to yourself - this is pretty easy! I thought it was supposed to be hard!
First three weeks are the hardest. After that, you'll have the occasional challenging day and/or crave, but you'll know you can handle it.
Thank you I really appreciate the support. I know it must get easier just taking it as it comes. Finding the lozengers a bit vile though! Might get the inhaler tomorrow. Thanks again.
Well don't on the quit.. Everyone's different it went harder for me for over a month I felt like crap.. But it's starting to get loads better.. Don't get me wrong there still sum days I just wanna give up on giving up.. But it's only for a fledging moment now..
yes it does get easier, doesn't help much in the first few days I know, but I was the smokiest person I knew and I haven't had a ciggy in a month, so it CAN be done. Use this forum, I tell everyone it's the best tool I have :).
Plough through the first three days, you should notice significant improvement in terms of craves after that, I did anyway, the nicotine levels thing and all that. After that it's psychological, so I read here!
Thanks for all the support I really appreciate it my four year old is chuffed too, she is the main reason I am doing this as she kept saying 'mummy I don't want you to get a poorly heart' so here I am determined to do it!!
Hello Kaz2314 fortunately it does get easier. However what your trying to achieve is not easy but it can be done. I like Haze56 smoked for some 40 years + and I'm proud to say that on Sunday past I was 156 days nicotine free.
Myself I attended a smoking cessation class which was made up of 6 weekly sessions of 2 hours per session plus N.R.T.for 13 weeks.
So Kaz it can be done just give it your best shot that's as much that any human can do.
You can do it, it does get easier. There are times when I get hit by, not a crave as such, more like a yearning. I got caught out the other day but think it was just the way I was feeling. Stick with it, worth it in the end:D
