Hey jay,

Don't be ashamed, 55 days is a big achievement so be proud of it ;) cos it shows you CAN do this :)

I am just trying to get back on track myself, we learn from our mistakes and discover smoking triggers we didn't know we had before.

Stay positive and keep going.

You're not a failure, you just didn't succeed.

What do you want to achieve?

Alex.

It was the 'just one' idea that ended my 50 day quit last year, plus going into self-destructive mode due to a few life probs. It's easily done, we just have to work at getting back on track as quickly as we can.

Get back to another quit as soon as you can. I left it for five years and really regret that.

Jayb

Whats done is done so just learn from your mistake and put it down to experience. Your back on track now so look forward not backward.

Well done for getting back on track so quickly

Not too good a read, Jayb.

Firstly, most of us, the vast majority, have had many attempts at stopping. We have fcuked up with those fails and yet kept stepping up to the plate because at some level we are driven to stop smoking for whatever personal reason.

By way of an observation I'm not entirely sure that successful quitting has been measured as a guilt or shame in our lack of that ability.

Many of us have previously held ourselves back because of this assumption we are failures. We aren't...we are succeeding...we have succeeded. And that's why you can also...possibly as soon as you stop being ashamed at failure.

Don't worry about us - it's a timeous reminder how easy it would be for each of us to do.

You are back on track and that's what matters. And well done for realising so quickly.

I have lost count of the number of times I have quit (I know that sounds terrible and it's not because they were so many but more because my memory is really terrible :D .. and also because it's not really important.)

Over the last 20 years or so since pregnant with my first child, there have been periods in between quits varying from 2 weeks (this one I think) and two years and more. Each time it has taken me closer to this, the final, quit.

Best of luck (and apologies for the ramble) x

Zoemac.. rogue.. Aitch.. Cavalier and Suze14,

thank-you all again, I really have been gutted, and now realise how easy it was,

all the reasons why i stopped in first place just seemed to be gone-

the hacking cough and bad chest, and thought i could just have one but now know that I cannot,

Day 4 again and doing well, and I am not a failure, i'm straight back on track and with your help I will do it.........I am doing it. :)

I should be ashamed

I should be ashamed that I havn't already been able to arrive to the second week!

:(

I joined this forum since 8 months ago but yet I'm not actualy on the first day.

Desire, determination,... the less I have the less I exist.

Really well done for getting back to your quit so quickly, Jay - you shouldn't feel ashamed, you should feel proud for the resilience that you have shown.

Stay with us - we can all do it. :D
