bleeding gums

So joined month 3 on the 26th march and my gums are still bleeding when I brush :( for quitters that are further than me, is this normal or should it be done with by now? I never had this problem before and there's no swelling or pain so I know its nothing nasty like gum disease, my gums are a healthy pink colour and everything. I just thought by getting to 10 weeks done that my gums would have gone back to normal.

Help!! Dunno wether to go to dentist or not but don't wanna pay 16 quid for her to tell me its from quitting and will go soon

it could be the blood flow to the gums improving , it doesnt happen all in one go. after 6 mths mine still bleed but not nearly as much , my dentist says it is related to quitting smoking and should improve. Its just more evidence of the damage caused by smoking. hope it gets better soon.

If you are sure that there are no other problems, I would save that £16.

I quit for 6 months last year, and my gums bled all the way through. Once I was smoking again, it stopped... :(

Just one of those cruel things. It will sort itself out eventually.

Thanks guys, ill save the money then. If it takes 6 months that's a long time isn't it lol

Deffo no other problems, I have always had quite sensitive teeth but that's all. Dentist told me to just use sensodyn toothpaste so I did and that's fine.

Its funny isn't it cos there's no pain, the only evidence is when you spit the paste out its tinted with red!! It doesn't happen every day just every other day or something it did go for a bit but now its came back.

Never mind, you're right its one of those cruel things but no way am I tempted to start smoking again, come too far now!!

My dentist told me to expect it too Rochelle and my gums still bleed, although not as bad as they did at the start.

He also told me to regularly floss on top of the regular brushing.

Oh I always flossed anyway and use the zero alcohol mouthwash once a day as well as brushing twice or three times so suppose I'm doing all I can.

Suppose its just another thing we have to get through lol
