I can see clearly now the rain has gone..
I just noticed your tag saying "Smoking isn't cool kids"...and was just thinking our kids don't stand a chance when they see all the "Twilight" cast for instance smoking. I'd just thought that and looked up at my muted T.V. (that I really wasn't watching) and there was a young Drew Barrymore in Wishful Thinking sticking a cigarette in her mouth with a packet of Marlboro Red in her hand....it makes me mad . Unfortunately our kids think smoking is cool as their idols smoke on the screen and in their very public, private lives LOL! Sorry to digress. Ignore me!

At the moment there's a big #unfollow campaign which is trying in its small way to socially "blacklist" celebrities smoking in the media.
Will it work? Dunno but it's worth a try!
We have years and years of massively expensive advertising to turn around to try and convince kids that smoking is far from cool.
If someone could just invent the viral image, phrase, gesture or whatever that teenagers latch on to and turn smokers from looking cool to looking like idiots it'd be a good start.
Whatever the current policy is I'm not convinced it's working!
Barry Manilow 'I made it through the rain'!
oh mine was "its my life" by Bon Jovi
it was my song 10 years ago when i was leaving my ex and it worked then so i thought i would use it again when i quit smoking
good thread btw
The Great Escape
by either Marillion (1994) or Arena (2011) *
* Arena's drummer is Mick Pointer who was Marillion's founder member but was booted out after their first album 'Script for a Jesters Tear'. The 'Great Escape' tunes only similarity is the name and both tunes are pretty darn good!!!
Loaded by Deacon Blue from the Album "Raintown"
Good to see nobody put:
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
For me it would be:
Johnny Nash - I Can See Clearly Now (although I dislike the song).

The Prodigy - Breathe. My quit completely. It also makes me want to dance.
I just cant get you out of my head!!!
ha ha ha Good one Dottie.
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive.
The words are perfect if you imagine yourself singing it to cigarettes or, in my case, cigars.
Singing to cigars? I'm going loopy!

I really ought to have linked to the Scott Walker original......couldnt resist a bit of Midge's dodgy moustache and cool 80's dance moves though. God I want a time machine! I miss it. Anyway.....the words in this one just about sum it up for me no matter who's singing it. Dont want you back. We'd only cry again. Tarra fags
