Hi Laura,

Welcome

You Can do this :D now... you say it.

This is a great place to be , the poeple here are really great and so supportive, thru good days, bad days, cry days, happy days, weird days, crazy lady days and any others. So many of us on here, NEVER thought we could be non smokers... but we are and so will you.... You can do it.

:D

Hi Laura, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take it one hour at a time telling yourself that YOU are CHOOSING not to smoke in that hour. It gives you a sense of empowerment over the nicotine when you achieve hour after hour. We are all here for you, give it some wellie girl :D

you can....you will...keep this attitude. Also what or how

many smokes a day for you? Listen, i went to the

Amer Cancer Society website..you know what they told me?

2 packer a day?

I needed 34-65 mg of nicotine per day...the patch only

goes to 21mg! Which means i would fail...know what i did then?

I put a patch and a 1/2 on! Which made it like 31 mg...

I did this until i begin to be awakened at nite...thus I just would

put it on in the day...after 11 days , I have not had a patch on since!

I do the lozenge tabs...1/2 under the tongue only!

If that! Which is hardly! Today is day 51!To each his own..

but i read up on stuff and i followed thru! Good luck!!!!

Keep going!!!! :d

Morning all, And thankyou for the replys

I smoked Roughly 16 a day (Depends how stressed/Depressed i am that day)

So i had my last cig a t 11:30 pm, Put patch on at 11:45pm woke up this morning wanted a cig, had breakfast(Dont usually eat it) still needed a cig so just jumped in shower and done myself a refreshing drink, the needing feeling has gone, i am thinking of going to get some inhalers just to help me through the next few days

i keep saying to myself "im a none smoker why do i want one"

hopefully will and power will pull together in next few days for me:)

Guess i'll see you all in Day 2

Really appreciate the support

hi and welcome :)

joining this forum will help you as everyone that is on here are either going through the same period of just quitting or are further down the road

just remember to keep mind and hands busy when you get a craving coming on

posting and reading on here will help keep both busy

it will pass and it does get easier

its the association to smoking you have to change ie when you get upset, angry or stressed apart of your brain will automatically think ciggie

smoking that ciggie wont change you being upset, angry or stressed

its just an automatic response to those feelings and before a ciggie was what you thought would help

look forward to seeing your post tomorrow :D

Does it get easier? At the moment I'm at my partners he doesn't smoke so not much temptation, but I'll be going home to my moms Monday she does smoke, tho has agreed to not smoke same room as me. Just realised I had my patch on over 24hours and I'm not even craving a cig yet(boyfriend will have spotless house by end of the day)

Hi Pl86. Yes it does get easier and better, although at times it just seems hard once you ride through the challenges you get stronger.

Hi Laura,

I was the same with cold turkey, although I didn't even make 1 day before my cigarette-hating, severely asthmatic boyfriend told me to smoke (I was crying in the middle of the street :o).

I found NRT to be much more useful. This time round it's been 6 months so far!

It does get much easier, you just have to ride it out, until not smoking becomes your new normal.

Good luck!
