This is my first day and I'm finding it sooooooo hard. I normally smoke 20-30 a day so yesterday I decided that today would be the day I stopped. So here I am on my first day going cold turkey and my jaws are killing me because of all the gum I've been chewing on lol. My head keeps telling me to go to the shop and buy some more . Can anyone tell me when this will get easier? When will the cravings go?
Thanks
Steph x

Hang on in there Steph - you've done so amazingly well to make it through the day without any nicotine. Keep bashing that nicotine monster on the head! The cravings will pass; you've just got to ride it out for the next couple of days. If you can, get a copy of the Allen Carr Easyway book - when I stopped smoking I dipped into it every time the cravings got too much. I also cut up drinking straws into cigarette-lengths to puff on when I was craving! Sounds daft but it really helped psychologically.
I initially tried a nicotine inhalor but stopped after a day as I think it was just keeping me addicted to nicotine. Cold turkey was the way forward for me. Give it three days to get that nasty nicotine out and you will then be past the worst.
And remember to be kind to yourself! Right now you are allowed to be grouchy and worried! It will pass.
Thanks for you helpful reply. I managed to go the day without one, now on day 2 feeling a little bit better because I made a big achievement yesterday.
For the cravings, drink water instead of smoking. Go for a walk, breath in that fresh air.
