A lot of the early days into a quit is filling up the time one usually smokes. That smoking time is also a habit that needs to be changed. Even thinking about what you can fill those times with act as divergence. Breaking habits is a lot about 'rinse and repeating' with other more helpful/beneficial activities.

Hi there - I'm on day two (25mg patch) and feeling OK thus far. My fiancee is at work today and I'm left on my own in the apartment, so I figure today will be tough to fight the boredom and smoke. However, I've had four cravings but only little ones (I think the patch must be helping massively) and I've fought them off pretty successfully. I actually feel really good, so much so that I feel almost like I could do this without the patch as I don't like the thought of that dirty nicotine going through my body - however, I've learnt from previous experience that cold turkey isn't for me, so I'll need to be patient...!

I'm on Day 2 as well, not feeling to bad today, compared to yesterday, but I've been eating lot more today, which is annoying cause I don't want to put on weight.

Don't let that bother you AT ALL Pauline. I mean I've found that worrying about weight gain is a motivator to start smoking again. Whenever I find myself thinking that, I kind-of tell myself off for not thinking that instead of starting smoking again, I should eat better and exercise to get the weight off.

Anyway for the first month (which I'm nearing the end of), I haven't cared about weight, even though I've put on loads. One thing at a time, eh?

Weight

Not even considered weight gain, but looking forward to being able to taste food again. I have been drinking more water as per suggestions on here, maybe try that Pauline when you feel hungry have water or juice.

Not what you're looking for?
