Many of us had far more attempts than 2!

Your 1st attempt was just practice, this is the one that will stick.

Take a browse through the links in my signature. Quitting is easier if you understand the addiction. IME its about 5% physical and 95% psychological, that's not to say its easy but if you adopt the right mindset then you're half way there.

The physical withdrawal takes about 3 weeks, after that its the associations with smoking as a reward or a stimulant or a relaxant or a crutch etc. etc. that have to be beaten. Each time you resist the want for a smoke you win the battle a little more.

Don't look on quitting as making a sacrifice or depriving yourself of some great pleasure, in truth you have just lost nothing. You should see quitting as a positive thing regaining your health, wealth and control.

All the best

Nic

For sure "whyquit" is good when you feel you want to smoke. The strange looking guy's videos are good. He really gets into your head for some reason!
