welcome to the forum hun, pull up a comfy seat you will be here for a while :).

you will eat more to begin with and i know healthy snacks are not as appealing as choccy biccies but frozen grapes are great for cravings and hand to mouth thing, i found carrot sticks good too.

dont be too hard on yourself for first few days though you can always exercise and diet later.

good luck and dont give up giving up

Hi - welcome to the forums, congratulations on quitting :)

Eating more tends to affect most folk tbh. If it concerns you then you could try freezing grapes and have them or snack fruit and vegetables - cherry tomatoes, etc. Me personally, I'm not too worried about the eating at the moment I'm snacking on mini eggs and any other form of chocolate I can get my hands on and will continue to do so until I feel comfortable with my quit. Then I will reign it in and sort out my eating.

Constant worrying about over eating can ruin quits, it has done with me in the past so concentrate on one thing at a time, don't put to much pressure on yourself and be proud of your quitting acheivements.

:)

Hey, congrats on your quit!

Regarding the eating, I would not worry too much! Try drinking more water, and eating healthily. I know it is hard. I quit for a year several years back, and used the money for a gym membership and started eating only healthy food - lost loads of weight, so it can be done!

I would focus on giving up the cigs for a while though and not worry too much, but this does depend on your personality. I took up smoking again when I got lazy and started eating junk food that last quit. This time I am not dieting or exercising specifically, but starting nursing school. Perhaps it is to do with a separate focus outside of smoking?
