I am due to quit next week and in a bit of delimer of how to stop. I have prevoiusly used NRT and went 5 months on it, but when I was due to come off it, it was like starting all over again, the withdrawel from the NRT was terrible.
I also am thinking of the Allan Carr method, anybody got any views on these two methods?
Many thanks Lance

I have read the Allan Carr book and found it very helpful in that it changes your mindset and makes you feel good about quitting smoking instead of deprived. So you get a positive attitude. No reason not to use NRT if you feel you need it though, but do what you think is best for you. Have you thought about trying Champix? It is good in that it makes the fags taste horrible and also when you quit the nicotine is out of your system within 48 - 72 hours, so you are no longer addicted to it and that feels good. There are side effects, but a little bit of nausea and headaches for a while is worth it to stop smoking and feel healthier quite quickly.
Wishing you all the best whichever method you choose.
i used both maybe the wrong way around i read allen carr a couple of weeks in whilst using NRT i would recommend read allan carr then if u still feel u need it use NRT double wammy if one dont work try the next thing
