I quit the dreaded 40 a day weed at 14:30 on New Years Day so i'm currently at 3 Days 5 Hours and 30 mins but who's counting.
I'm not doing too bad all things considered, probably due to using a lot of NRT. Before anyone panics the usage has been agreed with an advisor from my local Stop Smoking Service. I'm using Mouth Spray, Nasal Spray and Lozenges but it still beats the 4000 other chemicals I was intaking.
I find at times I feel like Superman but then the opposite end of the spectrum I sometimes feel like i'm just delaying the enevitable of smoking again but I am really determined and the good moments are outnumbering the bad.
My biggest problem is the blasted insomnia - Last night I lay in bed and it took 5 hours to get to sleep last night but I believe this is due to using the NRT late in the evening - Nicotine being a stimulant so tonight i'll try to leave it out late on.
I am also killing a stress ball at the moment to keep my hands busy which helps.
The plan for the future is to continue with the NRT as it's working, this tackles the habit then in a couple of months reduce the NRT to tackle the addiciton - in the present i'm taking one day at a time and keep telling myself 'Not One Puff'
